Self Actualization is the realization or fulfillment of one's talents and potentialities, especially considered as a drive or need present in everyone. Every human being has an addiction. We all need to and want to release endorphins. That "feel good" hormone that God gave us in our brains and body. But addiction, too much of anything, can lead to the downfall of anyone and will eventually lead to the death of us.
An addiction is good at birth. We eventually go on to accomplish what society has taught us to accomplish and we are molded by our environment. During the transition phase of our lives, we may use other addictions to stay in the accomplishment phase of life because this is what society expects us to be. It is at this time that our addictions can lead to crisis and even death.
It is understandable that no human being wants to experience constant crisis. Being in constant crisis can lead to death. We human beings have accepted the fact that we will all die from a crisis we have no control over.
Our addictions, we can control. No one wants to die from something they have the power over. Granted, in the moment of our addiction we may be powerless, but power is a learned behavior and we can live long prosperous lives as long as we have power over things that we can control. Someone needs to teach us self control. Learn it somewhere. Do whatever we need to do. Go wherever we need to go. Seek out whomever we need to seek out. If we can not learn self control once our addiction has over taken us as humans, we will die of our addictions. This does not have to be.
We will die, yes, we know this. We will die of circumstances beyond our control. Our addictions, things we can control, do not have to contribute to the things that are beyond our control.
