Everyone has an addiction. There are three types of addictions: habits that are acceptable. habits that are unacceptable and mind altering substances. When a person's addiction gets them into some kind of crisis (health, job, security, education, mentally or legally) this and only at this time -- will one's addiction become a problem. Who is the only person that can help you? --- You! If one's addiction makes them imbalanced with the world around them, the urge to change has to be strong enough within you to want or need to change. Those of us who do not have the urge, the want, the need or that driving force deep down within our souls to change our addiction, will die of that addiction -- plain and simple. We will die from health issues, overdoses, legal problems, loss of income, loss of family etc. It is our choice. We will be unable to met basic needs and life will spiral downhill from there. Some of us will make it because of our positive actions and some of us will not because of our negative actions. Positive actions will bring us rewards or awards and negative actions will bring us consequences and throw us into all kinds of crisis. Crisis is fine if we self correct. If we do not, our crisis will be the death of us. Either way it is all part of the circle of life.
Every single person on this earth has an addiction. What is the definition of addiction? "Addiction is a state characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli, despite adverse consequences. It can be thought of as a disease or biological process leading to such behaviors." If we keep our addiction in check, if we do our addiction in moderation, we will keep our beings in balance with the world around us. If it becomes imbalanced, then we are thrown into a crisis. Addiction is fine as long as we are aware that we are 100% responsible for it. Addiction is fine if there are no adverse consequences from it.
Everyone has an addiction. Everyone has something they can not go through the day without. Instead of judging each other, let's just realize it and stop being enablers of said addiction if the addiction becomes imbalanced. This forum was put here to help not balanced addictions but imbalanced addictions whatever the addiction may be.
